I did the bard/rogue/ranger and Astarion is a without question a single target machine. I did Swords Bard 3 / Thief Rogue 4 / Gloom Stalker Ranger 5, and with some damage riders this pale bastard is doing 5 attacks each turn (6 at the beginning of combat) with each one doing about 20-25 damage.
