I would appreciate some help on this. I took it to Hoehn Cadillac, the dealer in Carlsbad Ca. But they said it will be over $1500 to replace.

Whomever is having issues with the touchscreen not working. I found this and it won’t cost me $1500. I can disconnect the battery and reconnect it and the AC will work again. I suspect some inanimate objects may not work. If the object is at the same or less temperature than the device, it may not recognize the touch.
