Our Lady of the Angels Pastoral Region. There are 76 parishes in this region and eight cities besides Los Angeles. “La Placita,” Our Lady Queen of Angels, was the first church founded in Los Angeles in 1784. The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels was dedicated in 2002 and has become the cultural center of the city.
