Duramax ticking noise

When at idle (in park or drive doesn't matter) there is a loud ticking noise coming from what sounds like drivers side rear of engine. It is only at idle as soon as throttle is given it goes away. At first I didn't think anything of it but it keeps getting louder and louder.

The noise is not audible at idle or deceleration, only upon acceleration or when cursing down the highway. It seems to be loudest when the engine is hot 90+. Just Bought the truck and have previously owned a couple doge cummins.
