Exhausting all the dialogue options is a soft requirement to get the secret ending. Meaning it's one of the 7 things of which you need at least 5. I don't see a point in not doing it though. If you refuse the power, I guess you miss one mythic rank, thus failing at one of the hard requirements, which is reaching mythic level 10 at the end.
